Welcome toNYC ACM SIGGRAPH's MetroCAF 2017About MetroCAF 2017MetroCAF is the annual NYC Metropolitan Area College Computer Animation Festival organized by the New York City chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH. Started in 2003, MetroCAF has grown into the most important local festival of its kind. It provides an exciting opportunity for all students in the NYC metropolitan area to show their work not only to their fellow students, but also to industry professionals. Plans are under way for the festival to tour the network of ACM SIGGRAPH Professional and Student Chapters so this could mean international exposure for your work. Call for ParticipationDeadline: Wednesday, Please send us your workThe 15th edition of the festival is open to all students who attend college in the NYC metropolitan area, and who have produced any type of computer generated imagery (animation, visualization, visual effects, research work, etc.) within the course of their studies - in other words, you haven't been paid for it. For MetroCAF 2017, schools are considered to be within the NYC metropolitan area if they are located within a 160-mile radius of Times Square in Manhattan. What can I Enter?Although MetroCAF is a "Computer Animation Festival" we're actually looking for all types of computer-generated imagery - not just character animations. Visual effects, animatics, motion graphics, research work, visualizations - we want to see whatever you have. Don't think what you have is "good enough"? Let us make that decision. As long as it's moving images, submit it! And we're not just looking for thesis projects. We encourage work from freshmen on up through graduate students. If you're part of a group, you'll compete against other groups. If you work individually, you'll be judged against other solo projects. In addition to the juried competition, the chairs will be selecting a small number of pieces that they feel deserve to be in MetroCAF If you have any questions, you can e-mail us via the Contact page. We look forward to seeing your work this year. Check out all rules and regulations and enter your submission through the SIGGRAPH SIS Deadline: Wednesday, |
